The Javill family's deep-seated hatred for vampires forced Odette to flee with him to the secluded Forgotten Hollow. Having been adopted and distant from her family, Odette had no idea of the venomous hatred they held, nor how devastating it would be for the rest of her life.

Her sisters, Poet, Hunter, and Zimri, each led their own lives alongside Odette. Poet, the most hesitant, eventually grew to love her sister. Hunter, who was closest to Odette, supported her in many trying times. Zimri, ever the adventurer, roamed the world before settling in Mt. Komorebi. Poet became a doctor and married Dr. Colin Starnes, while Hunter pursued a career as a paranormal investigator. She met a charming man who hired her to communicate with his deceased wife, and their professional bond blossomed into romance.

After Odette and Dayshin wed, their lives took a tragic turn when Luca, the last known spellcaster in the family, revealed their secret love to the head witch coven. The coven, driven by the memory of Caden’s abduction and the damage done by vampires, sought to harm Odette and Dayshin. They initially kidnapped Dayshin with Luca's reluctant help, but Luca later pulled him aside to explain the coven’s deep hatred for vampires and the ancient wounds caused by Caden’s fate. Upon hearing this, Dayshin chose to seal himself away in his coffin, sacrificing his freedom to protect Odette and the unborn child she carried.

During Dayshin's absence, Odette gave birth to a daughter, Evangelina, who was born a vampire. When the head witch coven learned of this, they kidnapped the infant and attempted to expose her to the sunlight, hoping to destroy her. Luca, realizing the injustice of it all, freed Dayshin from his casket and rushed to warn Odette. Dayshin, desperate to protect his daughter, found Evangelina just in time. He shielded her from the sun with his own body, sacrificing himself in the process. When Odette saw his death, she rushed to him, hiding Eva to ensure her safety, but her efforts to save Dayshin were in vain. She too was captured and killed.

Luca, though devastated, managed to find Eva and bring her to safety. That night, he took the infant to her aunt Hunter and uncle Caspian, where they raised her as their own, determined to protect her from the legacy of darkness that had claimed her parents.
